the annual early career microbiologists’ (ecm) forum summer conference is back! the ecm forum will be hosting the virtual conference on 28–29 september 2021. you can look forward to presenting your work in a peer-led environment, hearing about different career options, grant application advice and learning from the successes of invited fellows. the conference is included as a member benefit to all ecm forum members. submit your abstract and register your place today.

society showcase and agm 2021

we’re pleased to announce that the society showcase and annual general meeting will be taking place online on 16 september 2021. this year’s event will feature the final of the sir howard dalton young microbiologist of the year competition, annual general meeting and a presentation from the winner of this year’s outreach prize. it will conclude with a training session equipping attendees with the skills to conduct successful science communication online. learn more and register on our website.

antibiotic research uk – the great university science quiz for undergraduates

last year, during the world health organization’s (who) world antimicrobial resistance (amr) week, antibiotic research uk ran an undergraduate quiz called 'the great university science quiz'. they are keen to promote this year’s event and have as many undergraduates and universities involved as possible. if you know any undergraduates that would be interested, please ask them to contact professor colin garner, ceo of antibiotic research uk at colin.garner@antibioticresearch.org.uk for more information.
