christmas closure

this year we are closing our office for an extended period over christmas and new year. we will close at the end of the working day on friday 17 december 2021, re-opening on monday 10 january 2022. this is in recognition of the hard work undertaken by colleagues during the course of the pandemic on behalf of our members, authors and readers, and in preparation for an exciting and ambitious programme of projects, activities and events in 2022.

these include the return of our full focused meeting programme, both in person and online, our annual conference 2022 in belfast in april, the 75thanniversary of our journal microbiology, the launch of our innovative access microbiology open research platform and much, much more. please read the members newsletter, the news section of the website and keep an eye on social media for all the latest news from the society. 

we are dedicated to delivering high levels of service for our members and the wider community and we are working to ensure the impact of the closure is kept to a minimum. please find information on all of our services and any changes below, as well as contact details in the event of urgent queries.

  • if you are due to renew your 2022世界杯对阵分析 before february 2022, you will receive a notification from the office as usual. please ensure you check your renewal details including grade and payment information and complete any requests before 15 december 2021 to ensure the process is seamless. please note – if you encounter an issue during the break that affects your ability to renew that is down to our system, we will ensure that your 2022世界杯对阵分析 continuity is protected. 
journals authors
  • manuscripts will continue to be processed during the closure, with operational staff staggering their leave, and our external vendors working across the entirety of the period. there will be slightly reduced capacity, but we are working to ensure no undue delays. editors handling papers will be taking time off at their own discretion but will endeavour to clear any papers on their desk before they do so and will let the office know if we are to expect any further delays (including whether reassignment may be required). 
journals customers
  • we will be maintaining normal service levels for all journal sales (publish and read, and subscriptions) up to 24 december 2021 and from 4 january 2021, with one week office closure between christmas and new year. please continue to contact [email protected] with any queries.    
meeting and event organisers
  • if you are organising a meeting or event with us in 2022, this will not be impacted by the closure. your staff contact at the society will ensure you have all the relevant information and are kept fully updated. in the event of an urgent issue relating to a meeting or event during the closure, please contact [email protected].
meeting and event exhibitors and sponsors
  • if you are booking, or have an enquiry about exhibiting or sponsoring at one of our events, our team will respond after we re-open on 10 january 2022.
emails and website queries
  • please note we will respond to all non-urgent emails and website queries after we re-open on 10 january 2022.
social media 
  • we will be monitoring social media but unable to respond to enquiries directly via social media channels, if you have an urgent question please direct it to [email protected].
