british yeast group 2021 - joining instructions

										  thank you for registering to attend the british yeast group 2021: the future of yeast research focused meeting. we hope you are looking forward to the online event, which takes place on 7–9 december 2021. to ensure that your online attendance at the meetings goes as smoothly as possible, we would be very grateful if you could please read the below information carefully.  

online event platform
the focused meeting will be hosted on a virtual event platform provided by ‘conference compass’. we encourage you to log in to the platform in advance of the live event to set up your attendee profile, familiarise yourself with the platform and view the posters. for the most stable and consistent experience, it is highly recommended that you use google chrome. microsoft edge is also compatible – depending on your browser’s security settings. please note, the platform is not compatible with internet explorer or safari.
access the virtual event platform
creating an account
when prompted to do so, please enter your email address and set up a password. the email address you use must be the same one you originally used to book your place at the meeting. 

once you have signed in, you will be asked to set up a profile, which will allow other attendees to see some basic details about you. 
to ensure that you appear in the delegate list, allowing
other participants to view your profile and interact with you, your profile
must be set to be ‘visible’.
when browsing the programme, you can save sessions that
are of particular interest directly into your personal programme.
if you experience issues accessing or viewing the virtual
event platform, try switching to google chrome (if you are using another web
browser). alternatively, close any other open applications that you are not
using and refresh the page using cmd+shift+r (for mac) or shift+f5 (for
windows).
event app
an event mobile app is available, which you can use to view the programme, access live sessions, view posters and network with other attendees using your mobile device or tablet. you can download the ‘英格兰vs美国谁会赢？
’ app and install the byg 2021: the future of yeast research event to gain access.

programme
all live sessions will be taking place on zoom and can be accessed via the programme on the virtual event platform. please ensure that you are using zoom version 5.3 or higher to access the poster presentations. recordings of the live oral sessions will be made available for you to access on demand, by clicking on previous sessions on the programme on the virtual event platform.
posters
all posters are now available on the event platform for you to view in advance of the live event, which starts on 7 december. this allows you to spend time identifying posters that are of most interest to you, which will help to decide which live poster presentation you may wish to attend during the live event.

all e-poster presenters have been assigned to a live poster presentation session, which are taking place at the below times. presenters can find their poster number in their abstract acceptance email.

poster session a    tuesday 7 december 15:35–17:00 gmt
poster session b    wednesday 8 december 15:35–17:00 gmt

all presenters are requested to present their poster during their allocated presentation time, if possible. those unable to attend the live poster session can create one-on-one meetings with other attendees using the virtual event platform throughout the week.

a poster abstract book is available to download online.

programme timings
when viewing the programme timings on the virtual event platform, the programme will be displayed in your time zone.

there is a video demonstrating how to navigate and use the functions within virtual event platform on the homepage and can be found below. you can also visit the faq session for further information. if you need additional support whilst using the platform please email conferences@www.banhxebo.com with as much detail as possible.
