professor harris discusses the topics of some of the presentations from the event, giving an overview of the ongoing research in the uk and ireland. the editorial also celebrates the resourcefulness and flexibility the community showed through their rapid adaptation to new challenges.
the sars-cov-2 and covid-19 online workshop took place on 29 july 2020, with the key aim to share information on research activities, promote and facilitate collaboration and build a community to co-ordinate the efforts of researchers in tackling the pandemic. the workshop consisted of 29 short talks given by speakers from across the uk and republic of ireland.
the editorial is free to access in the journal of general virology and was written by professor harris on behalf of the organising committee of the sars-cov-2 and covid-19 online workshop. the organising committee consisted of professor harris and dr stephen griffin, university of leeds, professor peter o’hare and professor paul kellam, imperial college london, and dr lindsay broadbent, queen’s university belfast.
